Monday Monday Monday - Monday Class Only

Since the snow has set you one week ahead, we are going to try a few new projects.

The first choice will be about maps.
You will have the opportunity to create a map using various digital and traditional techniques. The map can be for an existing place, an imaginary place, a big space (like a country) or a small space (like a room).
Handmade Maps

The second choice will be about communication/miscommunication through signage. You may also choose to create signs and directions that communicate correctly or incorrectly. The sign can be replacing an existing sign or creating one that is needed.

The Final Countdown

We are heading into the home stretch. After this week's movie presentations we have two final projects. The Digital Illustration and The Autobiographical Presentation.
The Digital Illustration will follow the theme of the semester, The Feel of the City or last semester's blog contest Grit and Beauty.
Create a digital image that combines any techniques we have covered in class or styles and techniques of artists we have looked at in class. (Doug Boehm, muttink.com, Ed Young - Wabi Sabi) You can combine hand work like painting and drawing, scanned objects and most importantly, the images we have been adding to the group photo collection. Please continue to add to that collection.
The project should be between 11x14 and 13x19 at PRINT RESOLUTION!

The Autobiographical Presentation will consist of a five minute presentation using Powerpoint, Keynote, iMovie or whatever you choose. Include images that will help you tell the story of your artistic career, your influences, examples of work that you've made etc.
The presentations will take place on the last day of class.

Start working on both of these projects immediately!
